TikToker Jools Lebron Shuts Down Haters With Very Demure Response

Jools Lebron has a very mindful response to her critics.
Shortly after the TikToker’s “very demure, very mindful” video turned into a viral sound bite on the app, she shared her reaction to those online who think the trend has reached its peak.
“I've been seeing a lot of comments where people are like, ‘I'm over this trend.’” Jools explained in an exclusive interview with E! News. “I think that's natural with anything that becomes super viral or gets a lot of attention.”
And considering the near-constant churn of internet trends over the years, Jools understands why people already feel her phrase—which was included in a video she shared to her account @joolieannie Aug. 5—has already been exhausted.
“I really do understand where they’re coming from,” she continued. “But I think this trend has only been positive for the most part. You're always going to have people that are negative—that just comes with anything. But I see so many people coming together over it, and loving what's going on.”
Indeed, there is a lot of love coming from Jools’ success. With the virality that has come with her video, Jools has been able to finance the rest of her gender transition, which she previously shared on TikTok, and take care of her family.
“It’s able to change my and my family’s life,” she noted. “For the first time ever, to be able to have security and make better moves and heal some of the trauma that came with growing up poor.”
As she put it, “I just think that if you keep that in mind, what really do you have to say that's negative? Keep it demure. Keep it mindful.”
But with all the good, Jools admits it has been “overwhelming” to have such intense overnight success.
“I just didn't expect it to get so big,” she revealed. “I've never had an experience where something that I've done online is now in real life. I'm in the airport and I'm hearing people say, ‘demure.’ They're not even talking to me. People are coming up to me taking pictures.”
In addition to new fans in her everyday life, Jools’ trend has been catching the eyes of celebrities—including Olivia Rodrigo, Penn Badgley, and Jennifer Lopez.
In fact, she emphasized that seeing Freaky Friday’s Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan hop on the soundbite completely “gagged” her—as she was a huge fan of the movie when it came out in 2003.
“It just really felt like a full circle moment,” Jools gushed. “Lindsay Lohan might know a crumb of who I am—that's crazy.”
